THOSE REDHEADS FROM SEATTLE - Starred Rhonda Fleming, Gene Barry, Teresa Brewer
Guy, and the 'BELL SISTERS' in his first acting/singing role. The film was a story about
the gold rush in Alaska. Guy sang 'CHICKA BOOM' which he recorded commercially, and a
duet with Teresa Brewer called 'I GUESS IT WAS YOU ALL THE TIME'. They didn't
record this duet commercially as they were under contract to different record
companies at the time. The soundtrack version was not issued on record, but Teresa
Brewer recorded the song commercially as a solo.
RED GARTERS - Starred Rosemary Clooney, Jack Carson, Gene Barry, Joanne Gilbert
and Guy.This was a satirical western, using theatrical sets rather than natural
locations. It did not go down well with the critics, but has since become
something of a cult movie. Guy sang'A DIME AND A DOLLAR' and 'MEET A HAPPY GUY'
both recorded commercially, plus a duet with Rosemary Clooney, 'MAN AND WOMAN'
which was not recorded commercially, but the soundtrack version was issued on
record. Guy can also be heard with the whole cast in two other numbers,
'LADYKILLER' AND 'VACQUERO'. He did not record these, nor were the soundtrack
versions issued on record.
